Ran away to play football

I grew up in Seattle, WA. Moved to Naples, Italy my freshman year, where I ran away at 15 to come back to the Seattle so I could play High School football. (There was no football in Italy, only soccer).

Played my junior and senior years at Shorecrest High School where in junior year my QB was Marc Wilson who played 10 years in the NFL. Scouts were always there to see him; he was throwing to somebody and that was me.

I played well enough to get a scholarship to Montana State in 1976. I lettered that year returning punts and kicks and I was fortunate enough to be part of our National Championship team. Played the remaining 3 years as a wide receiver and return specialist.

I was signed as a free agent and made 30,000 my rookie year with the Seattle Seahawks. After two years I was let go and signed with the Washington Redskins where I played for the next 3 years and was part of a Super Bowl run in 1983.

After retiring I ended up in the restaurant business for 13 years, before getting into Medical Sales for the last 28 years. I eventually moved to Colorado where I now have 2 boys ages 26, and 21.

I owe my NFL career to my teammates and coaches at Montana State, for without them I would not have gotten a chance.
